The Montana Trails Recreation & Park Association Annual Conference will be held October 3-5, 2021 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center Great Falls, MT. Our theme is “Reconnection through Recreation – Purpose and Resilience in Parks and Recreation.” The conference committee is working hard on session framework to address current topics and opportunities. We are seeking thought provoking speakers with professional, cutting edge, interactive education sessions, and presentations that can provide information and proven methods to successfully manage and maintain parks, trails, recreation programs, and any insight on the tracks listed below.
Program tracks include:
1. Trails Maintenance/Management/SCORP
2. Recreation/Aquatics Programming/Facilities/Management/Special Events
3. Parks and Urban Forestry: Resource Maintenance & Management
4. Administration
Topic ideas may include but not limited to: greenway, urban forestry, aquatics, special event planning & programming, Leave No Trace/Tread Lightly, SCORP, federal funding authorizations, Children in Nature, Superfund & Environmental education, building active communities, reliable source of funding, trail planning design and maintenance, parks & golf course maintenance, vegetation, and irrigation: uses and design, heritage tourism – recreation, public lands – urban trail connections, financial sustainability, volunteer training, liability & risk assessment, partnerships.
